My uterus hates me

So I've been here, in Medford, OR, for a week now and I think my uterus hates me. I swear it's weeping every time I hold my niece for any extended period of time. LOL. She is the most beautiful baby ever...well, until I have my own kids, that is. LOL.

Just kidding Riki! Love you!! hehehe

Seriously, though, my niece is gorgeous. She's the freakin spitting image of her mother.

And my uterus and ovaries are yelling at me in some language unknown to me, but I know they're pissed off. LOL. I'm hoping this means they'll get their asses in gear and cooperate when I get back to CA and start insems again. The quicker they get their act together, the less clinical we have to be about this situation. LOL.

Anyway...it's 1am and I should get to bed. Little Miss Fussy Pants will have us up before we know it. Hopefully I can sleep until 9am. ;o)

I made it!

After 15 hours of travel (Amtrak train & bus) I finally made it to Medford at 12:45 today. I'm exhausted. I've been up for 26+ hours at this point, but sufficiently caffeinated that I won't fall asleep mid conversation. I'll probably hit a wall at 7pm and crash out for the night, but I'm good to go until then. LOL.

The train ride was fun. I wish I could have done it during the day so I could have seen the sights (and not missed out on as much sleep!), but I got a lot of reading and crocheting done. ;o)

Now I'm at Riki's. I've seen the baby - she's more beautiful than her pictures show - and I'm totally jealous!! LOL My time will come, but I want it to be soon!! LOL

Already I'm so relaxed here - it's the clean air. LOL. I can't wait to visit the goats. LOL. I just may never want to go home.

Anyway, I think I'm gonna go take a shower and wash the travel stink off me. LOL. That'll be a good start to the rest of the afternoon/evening.

Cycle 10

So I made the executive decision to skip May's cycle so I could have a break from the stress. Unfortunately because of my scheduled trip to see my friend Riki in Oregon (who gave birth to my niece last night!!!), I'm missing the June cycle by about 2 days. Ultimately I think this break is a good thing, but I feel so down in the dumps about it.

My friend Ashley gave birth to her 3rd baby (but first daughter) 5 months ago. Riki had her daughter last night. A triplet mommy who's blog I read is going to give birth to her surprise baby #4 this Friday, I believe. And another triplet mommy who also has an older child just found out she's preggo with her surprise baby #5. While I'm so incredibly happy for all of these women, I can't help but be incredibly jealous at the same time.

When I come back from Oregon and we try in July, that'll be our first anniversary of trying to conceive. I really hope that I do get pregnant by the end of the year. Past that, I know that I'll have to start seeing doctors and such to make sure nothing's wrong, but I'm incredibly frightened that something is wrong. Then again, I really think that I may have had a miscarriage last month - there was tissue I discharged that just didn't look normal. So that may be a positive sign. Who knows.

All I know is that patience is not a virtue I have.

Edited to add: I just remembered...2 old high school friends that I've reconnected with through Facebook are currently pregnant. Ugh! Again, happy for them, but why can't it be me?!?! :::shakes fist in the air:::

A small update

So I guess I haven't done a real update in a little while, so here we go...

I've gotten a few more hours at work, but not much. This week I was only scheduled for 5 hours - and that was this morning. I really do love my job, I just wish there were more hours. LOL. But that's the economy for you. For as much of a loner as I am, I really do like this "salesperson" job. It's not hardcore sales, but more customer service based. (I work for Bath & Body Works if I didn't already mention that somewhere along the way. LOL) Hopefully I'll have more hours next week as we're gearing up for our Semi-Annual sale in June.

In 10 days, I'm turning 30. I'm nervous. I don't want to say I'm 30. I don't like that number at all. I really wish I was going to be able to ring in my birthday in a big way, but we just don't have the money. It's my own fault, though. I should have looked for a job as soon as I moved. In any case, I will be getting together with my friends the night of my birthday to have drinks and play some pool.

On June 7th I'll be heading out of town to stay with my friend Riki in Medford, OR for 2 weeks. She's going to be having a baby very shortly (she already lost her mucus plug, so it could be any day now, but her official due date is this coming Tuesday) and I'll be headed up there to spend time with her and help her around the house and farm (she lives on her mom and step-dad's mini farm - there's goats and chickens).

Then, on the 21st of June, Jenn will be meeting me in Medford and we'll take off to Coos Bay, OR (out on the coast) to spend a week with her family. It's their annual family reunion week. Several houses will be rented, there'll be family meals, (maybe) some salmon fishing (for Jenn's grandpa and uncles, I will not be participating in that, but I will be eating their catch!), crabs to eat, wine to drink with the aunts, and lounging on the beach getting tans. I can't wait!

Other than that, there's not much going on. I spend my days at home, on the internets, watching my talk shows (Oprah, Martha, Ellen), and Cash Cab. LOL. Maybe one day I'll have more interesting information to pass on, but for now, that's all I've got. ;o)

She works hard for the money!

So i got a call about an hour or so ago from my supervisor at work. I was asked to come in on Thursday from 10 - 12 for orientation to "graduate" to floor sales. Whee! This means way more hours and working with customers! I'll still be doing the floor sets, but I'll have addition hours with the daytime crew. I am so excited. This will make things so much easier for us...even if it's just a few hours a week, that little bit of extra money will be a huge help.

I will have to go immediately after my orientation to Torrid (just across the hall) and buy black clothing. That's our uniform at Bath & Body Works. Thankfully, it's pretty lax other than that. I can wear shorts (but not too short), capris, button ups, non-button ups, polos, etc, and as far as shoes go, i really don't think it matters. lol. but i think those have to be black, too. The store manager was wearing flip flops one day. I can't wear those all day, so I'll stick with my converse and ballet flats, thankyouverymuch! ;o)

This extra money is going to be so helpful when I take my trip to see Riki in June, and the week we're with Jenn's family (also in Oregon in June).

Anyway...just needed to share my good news!

Oh...p.s...no news on the baby front yet. I'm doing my very best to be patient! LOL. Today's day 31, so it's not much longer now.

Annoyance #2349874

I sent out invites to a baby shower I'm hosting for a very good friend of mine. One person has RSVP'd to say that she's not coming, but only because the mommy-to-be told her to! People are either RSVPing to the mommy-to-be or to each other. Umm..hello! It's my name and phone number on the RSVP line on the invite. Ugh!

I just sent out a "reminder email" to everyone. It's kind of important because I need to know if I have to run to my dad's house on Friday and pick up extra folding chairs. Food's not an issue because we pre-ordered the cake and deli tray from Costco and they'll feed a bunch of people, but I don't want people sitting on the floor if I'm only prepared for 10 and 17 show up.

Whatever. It's going to be a fun time regardless of who shows up, but given the way things are going, I don't think many people are going to be here for my friend. This is her first baby, she's thinking it may end up being her only baby (given the way her pregnancy has been going, she may not want to be pregnant again anyway. poor thing) and it seems a bunch of her friends can't seem to make time for her. I hope my friends prove to be better than that.

A truck and new hair!

My dad and brother came by after work today to drop off my dad's truck and have some dinner. My dad has an awesome truck that I'm absolutely in love with. It's an '87 Chevy short bed, step side pick up truck. It's canary yellow. It has Flowmaster exhaust. It's loud. It's awesome!! (I'll take a pic tomorrow!!)

My dad's leaving his truck with me for an indefinite length of time. My parents are going to Vegas for a week starting Saturday for a bowling tournament that my dad's in. Lucky bastards are getting to use my uncle's time share and only have to pay $140 for the whole week!! Anyway, they brought me my dad's truck so that my brother can park in the garage and won't have to worry about moving the truck. (My dad's truck and my brother's car live outside - my mom's Tahoe lives in the garage, but they're driving that to Vegas.) So, in the mean time, I get to drive the truck at my will. Trust me. I'll be taking that baby everywhere I can for as long as I have it!!

At dinner, my dad gave me permission to drive it to Oregon in June when I visit my friend Riki. She's having a baby and asked that I come stay with her after the baby's born. Her parents are going to be there for the first week, then I'll be there for about 10 days. I won't get there very fast, but I'll have a nice, long roadtrip in my favorite vehicle. And we'll save $350 on airfare since I'm no longer flying....then again, I'll spend $150 in gas to get it up there and back, but still..wayyy cheaper!!

I just hope it's not too hot because that truck doesn't have A/C. LOL. And now I really need to get the big iPod for my birthday for the long trip.

Oh...and I dyed my hair finally....after 4 months I no longer have roots! I went dark. Very dark. I'll take pics tomorrow. I can't call myself a redhead anymore. LOL. After 2 years, it's kinda weird, but I'll get used to it. LOL

Fun on the farm

So Jenn and I kind of took an impromptu trip to Oregon this weekend. When Jenn got her schedule last week, she saw that she was going to have a 3-day weekend this weekend and suggested we go see Riki.

We'd actually been trying to plan this trip for a month or two, but didn't think it'd work out because Jenn is trying to hire a new assistant by the end of the month and that's conflicting with Jenn trying to take time off. So earlier in the week, Jenn made a reservation with Enterprise Rent-A-Car to get a compact car for the drive up. Come Friday morning, Enterprise tells us that they require a $350 deposit to take the car. Yeah, they didn't disclose that on the website when Jenn made the reservation, so we didn't get the car. Instead, we took the Montero (Jenn's car) and made good timing getting to Central Point (Medford).

Riki moved to her mom's little farm in October and lives alone. I hate that she lives so far and lives alone because she's pregnant (currently 24 weeks). I'm actually coming back here at the end of May so that I'm here when the baby's born and I'll stay a few weeks with her to get settled into a routine and stuff. Plus I get to play with a new baby!! LOL

Anyway...the farm has goats and chickens and feral cats. Oh! There's a koi pond out back, too. It's super cute!! Riki is being very hospitable. She cooked us french toast for breakfast and currently has a corned beef simmering away on the stove. Yummy!!

Jenn and I came bearing gifts as well. We made chocolate chip cookies for Riki and brought a tub of baby clothes that Jenn and I have been buying for months. LOL. So much cute stuff!!

Anyway...that's how we're spending our weekend. Now we're off to Fred Meyer to get more giant coloring books (that's our crafty project for the weekend. LOL).

Home stretch

This is the worst part of my ttc cycles...the last couple days before my cycle ends. Today is day 28...so my period could come as early as Monday and as late as Thursday. This week is going to suck with the waiting game. It's so hard not to want to break out the HPT each and everyday once day 30 comes. LOL. This cycle was VERY relaxed, too. I have not been tracking temperatures for 2 months. Last month I was just doing OPKs starting on day 10 and ending on day 20 (my hormones peaked on day 15, if I remember correctly). This month, I started OPKs on day 10, but due to one thing or another (schedules or tummy issues), I didn't test everyday. I managed to catch a very postive result on day 19, so we did the insem that night and the next. I'm hoping against hope that it worked. This is try #6, so hopefully it'll mean 3 times the charm times 2. lol.

In other news, I am making plans to go to Oregon and spend close to a month with my friend Riki. She's due on my birthday (May 30th) with her first baby. She lives alone and has no friends near by (though her mom and stepdad live about an hour away). I'll go up around the 25th and stay about 3 or 4 weeks with her. I'm so excited. It's going to be so much fun.

Anyway..think good baby thoughts this week for me!

TTC update

so it's been a while since i've updated about baby stuff. obviously nothing has happened since i last posted. we were hoping for a christmas miracle, but that wasn't to be. right now i'm in the middle of insem round #6. we did it last night, tonight, and will do it again sometime tomorrow. i got a true positive on the OPK this time, so hopefully we hit the nail on the head.

miguel did get us a new fertility monitor, too. we had trouble finding the test sticks (replacements), so we didn't use it this month. it's the Clear Blue Easy electronic tester. If this month doesn't go, we'll give it a try. we got it second hand from a friend of miguel's, so that saved us a bunch of money. but the tester sticks are gonna be $50 a month!! the OPK's we've been using now are like $1.50 a piece (there' simple paper test strips) that jenn ordered from a supplier in canada (they come labeled as cosmetics on the customs sticker. lol).

i've been really crampy today, so hopefully that means something in the ovulation world.

jenn and i are also starting to plan a baby shower for our friend riki. she's 18 weeks preggo with a little girl. she just found out the gender last week. did you know picking out non-hideous baby shower decorations is a lot more difficult than one might imagine? LOL

Anyway, think good thoughts for us this month. hopefully the 6th time's the charm.
